I thought having separate cartridges for each color would mean an overall lower cost since I would replace only those colors that had run out. The printer does a great job but I'm tired of these companies ripping off consumers by over charging for cartridges. As the other reviewers have stated, there is very little ink in these cartridges. However, the HP tri-color cartridges last much longer.
I have to replace the magenta and yellow cartridges again, but when they're empty I'm buying a better printer. I, too, find that I have to replace the cartridges WAY too fast for the small amount of printing I do -- and cartridges for this model are NOT refillable.
All of the 3 ink jets i purchased is already empty. Theres not much color on the files. I just used it for about 3-5 times. In a simple file. And then Its already empty.
